Destination Imagination teams will solve two types of Challenge experiences: Team Challenges and Instant Challenges. Teams will perform their Challenge solutions to a group of Appraisers. Destination Imagination Appraisers are local volunteers who have been trained to assess the Challenges.

Team Challenges are open to the public, so family and friends are welcome! Instant Challenges are not viewable by the public.

The Showcases are optional opportunities for our DI teams across the state to show off their solutions and get feedback from Appraisers.

West Tennessee

Typically, the top three scoring teams from each Level (Elementary, Middle, High School) + Team Challenge are invited to participate in the state-wide Affiliate tournament. We call that the Tennessee State Tournament!

Our Tennessee DI State Tournament is a in-person tournament! The State Tournament will be held at Spring Hill High School in Columbia, Tennessee, on (Date - TBA) - (1 Raider Lane, Columbia, TN 38401). We are very thankful to the Maury County Schools for welcoming Destination Imagination to their beautiful, conveniently and centrally located facility near major highways and Interstate 65 in Middle Tennessee.

Each team is requested to provide one volunteer Appraiser. That person does not need any DI experience; we will train them! Thank you to all our Appraisers and volunteers who make the tournament possible! Appraisers can provide their information here to register; they will need your team’s number (e.g., 142-12345) for your team to get credit for their service.

Destination Imagination teams that advance past Regional and state/country (Affiliate) tournaments are invited to participate in Global Finals—the world’s largest celebration of creativity.

Global Finals is the culminating event of every Destination Imagination season. In May, over 1,200 teams from teams from 45 states, 7 Canadian provinces and 13 countries gather to showcase their Challenge solutions. Over 17,000 people attend Global Finals to celebrate creativity and have fun.
